@EuphmanKB Thank you for the kind words. I will be unpacking more details around decentralized and collective intelligence and how it relates to AI over the next few weeks.
I had watched Mark Rober's video last week and saved it for Amrita and I to watch over the weekend. I am deeply fascinated by the octopus and their learning+problem solving capabilities.
I believe your anecdote on the octopus hit the right note with AI being decentralized. Open source is the right step but in order for AI to be completely decentralized the current AI stack needs to change so that models are built collaboratively rather than the silo-ed environment they are built in today. It's also super important because decentralized AI would help alleviate some of the regulation and risks posed by AI today. Some or most of these problems actually (believe it or not) arise due to centralization of the model's training and deployment environments.
Couldn't agree more... Octopuses are fascinating! Trying to understand how they think through their collective intelligence approach has been bouncing around my head for the last few months. I love Mark Rober, and when I was looking for videos to explain ideas from the article, I was overjoyed to discover his video last weekend!
Thanks for preparing this insightful article. Looking forward to more of them.

Coming in with the pop culture +1. Topo (Tactical Observation and Pursuit Operative) is featured prominently in the latest Aquaman film.
As a DC universe noob, I had no idea! So cool!!
